			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Well, It&#8217;s less than a week until school starts for me and I can&#8217;t say I&#8217;m exactly looking forward to it. Not only have I only gotten up to Book 3 out of the 24 books in the Illiad (required summer reading), but our school&#8217;s idea of a warm welcome is a week&#8217;s worth of writing-and-thinking-hell. If you&#8217;ve never heard of writing and thinking, it&#8217;s a program my school does before actual classes start that is designed to give you a taste of our high school. It&#8217;s a hell of a lot of writing and not much thinking, in my opinion. Anyway, every year I manage to get the fifth floor classroom with no air conditioner and THE MOST boring teacher of the bunch. So not only am I sticking to my chair, but I&#8217;m also dozing in and out of consciousness for an entire week. And at the end of the week, we write essays. ESSAYS. As if I don&#8217;t get enough essays in my school as it is, let&#8217;s add another that has absolutely NO EFFECT ON OUR GRADE yet we STILL have to complete anyway.<br />
I think the only thing I&#8217;m looking forward to is starting actual classes on the 20th. I&#8217;m in the college program of my high school (taking all college classes) so I got to choose all of my classes and teachers. My schedule is lookin&#8217; fun and interesting! I&#8217;m taking Calculus I, General Chemistry, Latin 104, The History of Gender and Power in Latin America, Roman Culture, and Seminar with a really awesome teacher. <img src='http://caught-in-a.net/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  In total I have 18 credits, so I&#8217;m going to have a pretty busy year. Not to mention I have a new paid internship working as an usher at a theatre and some acting classes, clubs, volunteering, and SAT classes. I&#8217;m pretty booked. What&#8217;s your school schedule looking like? do you hate/love it?</p>
<p>On a totally different note&#8230;the site has a TON of updates. Two new Layouts can be found <a title="layouts!" href="http://caught-in-a.net/?page_id=21">here</a> and some new photographs and artwork can be found <a title="photos!" href="http://caught-in-a.net/?page_id=32">here</a>! the layouts are pretty simple coding, and I whipped them up really quickly. give me a week or two and I&#8217;ll have you a better, more complex layout to solve all of your design qualms. <img src='http://caught-in-a.net/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I&#8217;m at least 90% sure the above quote describes my life sometimes. More often than not I&#8217;m lost or about to be lost or just getting out of being lost. I think it&#8217;s just because I&#8217;m distracted easily, actually. The other day I wasn&#8217;t paying attention and managed to make myself thirty minutes late for a prior engagement by taking a completely different train (it&#8217;s not my fault they put two different trains on the same track&#8230;). I won&#8217;t even get into the time I took the 4 train instead of the 6 and found myself an hour and a half from where I needed to be. You would think living in New York City for sixteen years would give me an edge on the complexities of the subway system, but alas, nothing.</p>

<p>The other day I stumbled across this quote and it got me thinking. Now, I&#8217;ve never really been a religious person, but my family sort of is. My Mom&#8217;s side is Roman Catholic (on account of being Italian) and My Dad&#8217;s side is some sort of southern christian (I don&#8217;t know the terms). I guess lately I&#8217;ve been feeling a little guilty about my faith. Everyone is so&#8230;devoted and I&#8217;m just questioning. I honestly would LOVE to believe in God. But, I can&#8217;t bring myself to believe in something I can&#8217;t understand. I respect those who can, but it just baffles me. I guess it&#8217;s the scientist in me, constantly questioning and reasoning, but whether it&#8217;s indifference or intelligence, I don&#8217;t know yet. I do get a lot of flack for being an agnostic (not necessarily believing in God but not denying he/she/it exists), be it from family members or friends or random people I just meet. But at the end of the day, I&#8217;m the one who has to live with my decision, am I right? And while on the topic of religion, I just find so many holes in it. I don&#8217;t mean to offend anyone, but many of the rules and stuff in the holy books are ridiculous. Killing non-virginal brides? Rejecting homosexuality? Suppressing women and their rights? Primitive, at best, and reminiscent of ancient hierarchies that cater to a different, more simplistic time. I should probably shut up now, because this blog will most definitely turn into a rant on feminism (which, if you know me, I tend to break into quite quickly and without warning). My point is, is that Religion is so freaking complicated. Wow, I managed to sum a 500 word post up in 5 words. Don&#8217;t you wish I realized that earlier? <img src='http://caught-in-a.net/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>Before I go, I just wanted to take a quick poll of sorts. I&#8217;ve recently been exploring baking&#8230;okay not recently. I have a history of stress baking, and an even longer history of boredom baking. But I&#8217;ve been doing it a lot recently, and was wondering if an interesting addition to the site would be a corner dedicated to recipes and projects I&#8217;ve done. Likes, dislikes? Let&#8217;s face it, I&#8217;ve never been a good webmaster what with the recent malware plagues, site crashes, and creativity homicides, but I&#8217;m going to give it another go. This will be my no-guilt zone: I&#8217;m not going to beat myself up if I don&#8217;t put up any interesting content, but I do solemnly pledge that I&#8217;ll be up to no good with my blogging.
